EVP & Head of Production, John Wehage, brings his rich and multifaceted expertise to Jesse Collins Entertainment, where he plays a pivotal role in overseeing the production of exciting and diverse content. With a career spanning over two decades in various leadership positions, John has made a significant impact on a wide range of television series and programs. In this capacity, John brings his expertise in a variety formats, including shiny-floor stage, live, competition, docu-follow, gameshow, stunt-based, digital, documentary and adventure programming.
John’s journey in the entertainment industry was most recently with Scout Productions, where he contributed to the success of acclaimed shows such as Legendary (HBO Max), The Hype (HBO Max), Merpeople (Netflix), The Secrets of Hillsong (FX), The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning (Peacock) and the Emmy-winning Queer Eye (Netflix). In this capacity, John honed his skills in a variety formats, including shiny-floor stage, live, competition, docu-follow, gameshow, stunt-based, digital, and adventure programming.
Prior to Scout, John was Head of Produciton at 495 Productions, overseeing finance, accounting, production, and operations. During his tenure, he managed the production of hit shows including Jersey Shore Family Vacation (MTV), Floribama Shore (MTV), Peace of Mind with Taraji (Facebook Watch), Pushing The Line (Discovery+), Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party (VH1), and Double Shot At Love (MTV).
At Jesse Collins Entertainment, John continues to leverage his extensive experience and keen understanding of the industry to create captivating stories that resonate with audiences worldwide. His ability to navigate complex creative projects and adapt to various budgetary constraints has resulted in hundreds of hours of engaging global programming.
A respected member of the Television Academy’s Production Executive peer group, John holds a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Southern California. He currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and three children.
